As a parent I realise that childcare is expensive and hard to find. I also think that holiday clubs are not always very educational. This is why I have set up my own Forest School Holiday Club.
The aim of the club is to spend as much time outdoors as possible, having fun and adventure, whilst learning new skills.
The essential Forest School skills that could be learnt include; shelter building, camp cooking, knot tying, fire lighting, plant and animal ID, woodland crafts and safe tool use. But it may also include activities such as going to the beach and rock-pooling or identifying sea shells.
Various sites around Hampshire will be used. It is likely that these will be public sites, e.g. Itchen Valley Country Park or Lepe beach, which have good facilities such as toileting, picnic areas and play parks. A timetable of locations and activities will be given to you prior to your child starting.
The minibus I use has 5 seat-belted seats in the rear as well as a table, microwave, hot water and hand washing facilities. This means that no matter where we are we will always have somewhere comfortable, warm and dry to go to.
I am a qualified teacher and Forest School Leader with up to date first aid and food hygiene certificates. For your peace of mind I am also DBS enhanced checked and have undergone MIDAS minibus training.
If you think your child would enjoy a Forest School Holiday Club then please phone or email me to find out more. There are only 5 spaces available per day, so early booking will be essential. Please be aware that payment is required at time of booking to secure your child’s place. If you cancel a booking I will need 48 hours’ notice otherwise you may still be charged.
